Job Description/Responsibilities:
Position will involve the installation, maintenance and monitoring of Computer Network Defense (CND) systems at shore based Navy installations both within the United States and at various overseas locations (Non-combat zones). Work performance will be based at SPAWAR Charleston in Charleston, SC but there is an estimated 50% travel requirement.
This positions is responsible for performing information assurance, networking and development tasks that include but are not limited to the following: set up of network components and computer operating environments, configuration of computer hardware and software, information assurance monitoring, preventative and corrective maintenance of network components and computers, requirements development, requirements traceability analyses, object oriented design, database table design, report design, screen design, test documentation, test execution, other documentation efforts, coding and testing.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer or Information Science or a related engineering or scientific discipline is preferred.
Multiple professional certifications relevant to DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician Certification preferred: CompTIA A+, Security + and Network+, (ISC)2 System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISACA Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), Microsoft MCSA, MCAD, MCSE, CSEP, Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Minimum Experience:
Must be very familiar with information assurance principles, computer and networking configurations and debugging. Additional familiarity with Linux, Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, clustering, Active Directories, SQL Server (including writing scripts, stored procedures, etc) is preferred.
Minimum Three (3) years, Five (5) years preferred, of experience with Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX and Windows based operating systems. Minimum Three (3) years of data processing system experience with specific projects related to C4ISR Systems is required.
